“New Year, New Rhythm”


Students create a 4-beat winter-themed rhythm pattern using symbols snow(flake) = quarter note, snow man = eighth pair, skate = rest.
Perform patterns using body percussion.

“Winter Soundscapes”

As a class, brainstorm winter sounds (wind, crunching snow, ice cracking).

Students choose one sound and create a short vocal or instrumental sound effect, then combine to make a class “Winter Soundscape.”

“Back-from-Break Beat Pass”

In a circle, students pass a small winter item (mini snowflake, pom-pom, etc.) to a steady beat.

When the music stops, the holder shares one musical thing they remember from before break

Do you have an extra 5 minutes to fill? Do you need a reset?
Do you need to recover from a disruption? Safety drill minutes lost?
